Ice Carving Club

Founded in 2023
The ACF Cleveland Akron-Canton Ice Carving Club is here to keep the art and craft of ice carving alive. Our goal is to teach the art and craft of ice carving in a studio environment. Members of all skill sets and abilities are welcome. Even if you have never carved a block of ice before, we want to teach you. In partnership with Jim Loiko of Images in Ice LLC., we are working in a teaching environment reviewing various skills from design, templates, snow filled, and even up to 3-D sculptures. Tools are provided, you will need to provide PPE and appropriate clothing.

Recommended PPE:
Safety Glasses
Ear Plugs
Work Gloves, preferably insulated and more than 1 pair
Waterproof boots, steel or composite toe preferred
After design, sculpting and practice, the club and teams will be competing in local ice carving competitions including the Medina Ice Festival. The Medina Ice Festival is a three day event with two days of ice carving competition, this event is always the third weekend in February.
Saturday they do a single carver, 1 block sculpture and Sunday is a two person team, 3 block competition.
